چکیده

The interest in studying the synthesis of an Al–Cr alloy system by non-equilibria processes is due to formation metastable or quasicrystalline phases when rapid solidification has been utilized. Similarly, quasicrystals reported a much lesser extent mechanical alloying technique was applied. In present research, mixture powders Cr and Al (both elements with purity 99.99%) compositions Al-5 7.5 at. % subjected ball milling process. Afterwards, powder consolidation process, conducted pressing sintering processes. X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that during 20 h there no second detected. addition, peaks as time increased, nanometric grain size decreased, once treatment applied, crystallite decreased following same tendency. dislocation density estimated using grains; this computation grew throughout process; even after sintering, multiplication dislocations prevailed

Mechanical milling of aluminum powder using planetary ball milling process

Mechanical alloying has recently attracted considerable attention as researchers strive to enhance nanocomposite properties and extend their utility. The process can be performed at room temperature and homogeneous nanocomposite powders can be produced. In this paper, we investigated the effect of different ball milling parameters and operating conditions (milling time, ball size, processing co...

Microstructural Characterization of Calcite-Based Powder Materials Prepared by Planetary Ball Milling

In this work, a planetary ball milling was used to modify the surface properties of calcite-based material from waste oyster shell under the rotational speed of 200-600 rpm, grinding time of 5-180 min and sample mass of 1-10 g. The milling significantly changed the microstructural properties of the calcite-based minerals (i.e., surface area, pore volume, true density, and porosity). The surface...

Evaluation of catalyst ball-milling process on growth and diameter of carbon nanotubes on iron nanoparticles

In this study, we describe the growth of carbon nanotubes on commercial iron nanoparticles without carbon shell (Fe (nm), size 2O3 and Fe* (nm)/MgO) was carried out by mixing commercial Fe* nanoparticles (as catalyst) with Al2O3 and MgO powders (as supports)by using ball-milling method. The results show in spite of the fact that ball-milling process can have neg...

Effect of Milling Time on the Microstructure, Physical and Mechanical Properties of Al-Al2O3 Nanocomposite Synthesized by Ball Milling and Powder Metallurgy

The effect of milling time on the morphology, microstructure, physical and mechanical properties of pure Al-5 wt % Al₂O₃ (Al-5Al₂O₃) has been investigated. Al-5Al₂O₃ nanocomposites were fabricated using ball milling in a powder metallurgy route. The increase in the milling time resulted in the homogenous dispersion of 5 wt % Al₂O₃ nanoparticles, the reduction of particle clustering, and the red...
